The plot against Traditional African Spirituality.

Now let’s continue with the Christian European story. During the time of the transatlantic slave trade, European countries and kingdoms often sent explorers to venture further and deeper into Africa for potential resource exploitative possibilities. In history class we learn about explorers such as Albert Cook, David Livingstone, Richard Francis Burton among the many. Their stories are glorified mainly because the writers of that academic history were usually Europeans. Much of the interior of Africa was still mostly unfamiliar territory to Europe by the 18th century, being that most of their exploits had been limited to coastal regions and northern Africa. This period of explorers coming into Africa is what the Europeans chose to call the “Age of exploration”.
