There is a power within every human being that is greater than circumstance.

It is the power to imagine what does not yet exist, to transform pain into wisdom, confusion into understanding, fear into courage, and separation into reconciliation. It is the power to choose our response, cultivate our character, develop our gifts, and use our lives in service of something greater than ourselves.

In Kemetic tradition represented by the Charm of Aishat, this awakening is associated with the magical power of the Goddess Aishat. It carries a sacred recognition of the extraordinary capacities that human beings can cultivate. The celebration invites us to contemplate what it means to awaken spiritual potential, deepen our relationship with the divine and with our ancestors, and recognize that our gifts carry responsibility.

The message for our time is powerful:

Do not live as though you are powerless. Discover what you carry. Develop it. And use it wisely.

What Is Magical Power?

The word magic can easily be misunderstood.

In the context of a spiritual tradition, it can refer to sacred or extraordinary power. But there is another way to approach the idea that speaks powerfully to everyone, regardless of how they understand spirituality.

Magical power can represent the human capacity to transform reality through consciousness, knowledge, intention, discipline, relationship, and action.

A teacher changes lives through knowledge.

A mother changes a child's future through love and guidance.

A healer brings comfort and restoration.

An artist changes how people see the world.

A leader transforms a community through vision.

A courageous person inspires another person to believe that change is possible.

These transformations may not always look miraculous. Yet they are extraordinary.

The real question is not whether we possess power.

The question is:

What are we doing with the power we possess?
