Reclaiming the funerary rites of passage is an act of decolonisation.  Colonisation might be considered the act of a body of life parasiting its host, or consuming another neighbouring life for its survival. This is contrary to mutualism, which follows the principle of harmonisation, in which both entities have the right to exist to benefit and contribute to each other, enabling both to grow and survive.
